With a waning pandemic, wars, etc., where do you look for hope? While at Easter time, a new season and spring flowers, can give a temporary lift to our souls, where is real hope found?
Real hope can be found in a good and noble person with the capacity to deliver on their promises. The Bible describes God in such terms: He is “faithful” [1], His “work is honourable” [2], “He is good” [3], He is “love” [4], and “of great power” [5].
The Bible also tells us how God came into the world as a man, Jesus Christ [6]. The Lord Jesus Christ perfectly displayed divine truth and love throughout His life and gave hope to many. This was most clearly seen in His crucifixion, when at Easter Christ suffered and died for our sins. With His resurrection, He showed His power over death and therefore we can “receive forgiveness of sins” [7], “not perish” (not go to hell) [8], be “justified” [9], have “everlasting life [10]” “with eternal glory” [11].
Because we sin, we need a perfect Saviour. God says “the gospel (good news) of Christ … is … unto salvation to everyone that believeth” [12]. Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ now and have a real hope forever.
