ANSWER IN SHORT TO THE SUPPOSED CONTRADICTIONS IN THE BIBLE

Answers to Supposed Bible Contradictions"There are lots of contradictions in the Bible and so it cannot be true” has been said a number of times to me. I then pull out a small Bible from my pocket and ask the speaker to find one genuine contradiction. All, except one, were then embarrassed and had to admit, in various ways, that they did not know what they were talking about. The one exception then picked out two statements from the Bible which, because they were taken out of context, looked like a contradiction but were not. When you take Bible statements in their context the vast majority of the supposed contradictions disappear.

Also the Bible says in 2 Timothy c3v16-17, "All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.” 2 Peter c1v20- 20 "For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.”

Therefore God inspired people, who previously were believers in Him, to write what He wanted written in the varying situations of life.

As God is the God "of truth” and "just and right” (Deuteronomy c32v4) and "is love” (1 John c4v16) and as God's "understanding is infinite” (Psalm 147v5) and as there are issues in the Bible that are "everlasting” (Matthew c25v46), decide for yourselves whether God would really inspire a book to be written that could be genuinely ridiculed? We think not and happily have faith in God through His Word the Bible.

However there are places in the Bible where there are seeming contradictions and so we will answer them.
